Right after the Overlord captures Cyrus Borg, the ninja also gain an advantage. Due to Zane’s example, the ninja find out how to use their techno blades to hack vehicles! Kai hacks an airplane, resulting in his new plane having a fiery and red look to it. On the other hand, Cole hacks a big robot that is patrolling the streets, and turns it into his own “Earth mech.” Jay has some fun and hacks a security tank which now has a blue background and lightning design on it. Now all the ninja have their own vehicles: Zane has an “ice-copter”, Cole has an “Earth mech”, Jay has a “thunder-raider” and Kai has a “fire-plane.”

Jumping from rooftop to rooftop, Wu runs for his life and for the sake of Ninjago City. The Overlord is on the hunt for the techno blades, as they are the only thing that can stop him… Wu seems to have the techno blades with him, covered and wrapped in a sheet. Suddenly, he makes a huge leap from one building to another, secretly dropping the techno blades underneath him. Since Kai’s plane is right under the jump, the blades end up with him! The ninja flee to safety as the Overlord continues to seek Lloyd’s golden power and Ninjago City is no longer safe… 

The Overlord is not very happy about the fact that Master Wu tricked him. Eventually, Wu gets captured by the Overlord’s army, and is brought to the Overlord himself. Since the Overlord has no clue where the ninja are, he decides to access Master Wu’s memories, in hopes of finding them. To do this, the Overlord has Cyrus Borg lock Wu on a table so Wu will stay still. Then, an advanced, technological, and thin beam projects onto Wu’s forehead. This allows the Overlord to access Sensei Wu’s memories, which are projected on a screen above. Soon, the Overlord may find where the ninja are hiding…

Meanwhile, evil PIXAL is in the factory creating what appear to be… robots! Designed similarly to PIXAL and Zane, these new robots are trained in martial arts and are programmed to obey the Overlord. They are called “Nindroids.”

The ninja decide to settle near Garmadon’s training dojo in a hidden forest. While the other ninja are surprised that Garmadon has become a teacher, Lloyd is excited to see his father again. However, all this changes when Lloyd gets humiliated in front of everyone in the dojo… Lloyd and the other ninja enter the dojo, while Sensei Garmadon is about to start teaching. They all sit down and are amazed at how Garmadon has changed since they last saw him: Garmadon started as evil but still ended up becoming a non-violent teacher! Garmadon is teaching “The Art of the Silent Fist” and asks for a volunteer to fight. Lloyd instantly raises his hand and is excited for the “Final Battle: Part 2.” Lloyd then eagerly tries to punch Garmadon, but Garmadon easily and swiftly dodges. Lloyd keeps punching, and Garmadon keeps dodging. Eventually, Lloyd gets tired, and gets knocked out in a single blow! All the little kids in the dojo start laughing at Lloyd’s fail, including the ninja…
